A. L. “Red” Sims, 83, of Thomasville, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012 at his home. He was born July 11, 1929 in Sunny South and was the owner and operator The Alabama Grill for 25 years. Sims was a member of the Thomasville United Methodist Church. He was a U. S. Airforce veteran and a member of the Oliver Lodge # 334 F & AM of Thomasville for 50 years.
He is survived by his wife, Madelyn Louise Vick Sims of Thomasville; son, Mark L. (Robin L.) Sims of Thomasville; four grandsons, Alex (Crystal) Sims, Jason (Korey) Sims, Drew Sims and Trey Lowrey, all of Thomasville; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 9 at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. George Sedberry officiating. Interment followed at Choctaw Corner Cemetery with O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Active pallbearers were Alex Sims, Jason Sims, Drew Sims, Trey Lowrey, Eddie Vick and Walt Pope.
