Margie Lee Branton Jackson, 92, of Anniston died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 at National Health Care in Anniston. An Alabama native, Jackson was a longtime member of Elkdale Baptist Church and was a member of the Eastern Star. Her special joy in life was singing about her Christ and cooking for her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan Sanders Sewastynowicz and her husband, James, of Anniston; sons, Johnie E. Jackson and his wife, Jacqueline, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Russell B. Jackson and his partner, Brian Stano, of Anniston; grandchildren, Tanya Snively and her husband, Mike, John Sanders, Lee Sanders, Burke Jackson and his wife, Candice, Brent Doriety and his wife, Candice, and Joy Doriety; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Branton Whitfield and her husband, LaRue; brothers, William Branton and his wife, Mary, and Carl V. Branton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie P. Jackson, and sisters, Beulah Carlisle and Ruth Hinson.
Graveside services will be Thursday, Dec. 6 at 1 p.m. at Pineview Memory Gardens in Valley Grande.
