Thomas V. “Knocker” Dungan, 64, of Nanafalia, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. He was born Sept. 30, 1948 and was a retired maintenance worker. Dungan was a member of the Nanafalia Baptist Church and a U. S. Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Dungan of Nanafalia; two daughters, Mitzi (Jason) Baugh of Scyrene and Teresa (Walter) Jackson of Calhoun, Ga.; brother, Ray (Faye) Dungan of Mt. Vernon; and four grandchildren, Elizabeth Pulliam of Adairsville, Ga., Nicholas Jackson of Calhoun, Justin Baugh and Bella Dean Baugh, both of Scyrene.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Dennis Wayne Cooke and Richard Patrick Cooke.
Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 7 at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Hal Taylor officiating. Interment followed at the Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Thomasville with O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Active pallbearers were Walter Jackson, Scott Harris, Nicholas Jackson, Ken Morris, Justin Baugh and Chris Walker. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Drinkard, Max Joiner, Jonnie Steel, Bernard Pugh, Frank Martin, Mack Harris and William Allen.
