Hasty

Charles Wesley Hasty, 93, of Thomasville died Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Marengo Nursing Home. He was born Dec. 26, 1919 in Surginer and was a retired logger and farmer. He was a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and a World War II U. S. Army veteran.

He is survived by two sons, James Wesley (Mary Olive) Hasty of Linden and Charles Howard "Buddy" (Jan Carol) Hasty of Gallion; daughter, Judy Kaye Hasty (T. J.) Kirkham of Thomasville; two sisters, Polly Hill of Chattanooga, Tenn. and Margaret Pope of Dixons Mills; seven grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Inez Raybon Hasty; son, Bobby Franklin Hasty; three brothers, Cecil Hasty, William Claudy "Dub" Hasty and Maxwell "Bud" Hasty; two sisters, Lois Morgan and Bonnie Pearl Foster.

Funeral services were Friday, March 8 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Daniel Gandy and Rev. Jonathon Collins officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery with O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville directing.

Active pallbearers were Darren Kirkham, Steve Kirkham, Jim Hasty, Dr. Alex Curtis, Jared Hasty and Jeffrey Hasty. Honorary pallbearers were Ted Morgan, Cecil McIntyre, Raymond Vick, Lamar Stockman and Dock Harper, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wesley Chapel Cemetery Fund, c/o Racelia McIntyre, 104 Fire Tower Road, Dixons Mills, AL 36736 or to the United Methodist Children's Home, 3140 Zelda Court, Montgomery, AL 36106.
