Jack Edward Allday, Jr., 84, of Sweet Water died Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at his son's home in Marion Junction. He was born July 30, 1928 in rural Coffeeville. Allday was a retired engineer assistant with the Alabama Highway Department and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Katie Flowers Allday of Sweet Water; son, Dewayne Allday of Marion Junction; daughter, Sheri Allday of Birmingham; brother, Marvin Allday of Waynesboro, Miss.; sister, Lois Martin of Klamath Falls, Ore.; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Saturday, April 27 at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Percy Clarke officiating. Interment followed at Aimwell Baptist Church Cemetery in Sweet Water with O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville directing.
Active pallbearers were Andy Etheridge, Christian Allday, Dewayne Allday, Jerry Magyer and Martie Allday. Honorary pallbearers were J. D. Flowers, Austin Green and J. S. Flowers.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Aimwell Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or to your favorite charity.
