Bobby C. "Billy" Brunson, 70, died Friday, April 26, 2013 in Jackson. He was born April 5, 1943 and was a resident of Jackson. Brunson retired from Ciba after 43 years in the maintenance department where he was the 'Master Chef'. He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed fishing at Gee's Bend, gardening, deer hunting and Alabama Football. He was especially proud of his grandchildren whom he loved dearly.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Cecilia Brunson of Jackson; two sons, Greg (Brenda) Brunson and Kevin (Angela) Brunson, both of Jackson; two brothers, Arvin Ray (Nell) and Roy (Dawn) Brunson, both of Grove Hill; two sisters, Betty Jean (Willard) Pugh and Debra (Mike) Wilson, both of Thomasville; brother in-law, Rayford (Marie) White of Coffeeville; three grandchildren, Dalton Brunson, Brianna Brunson and Madeline Brunson; two step-grandchildren, Taylor Slayton and Tyler Slayton; like a daughter to he and his wife, Becky Alexander; numerous nieces and nephews and all of his Gee's Bend family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arvin Lester and Lillian Brunson and brother, James Brunson.

Funeral services were Tuesday, April 30 at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with Bro. Benny Harrison and Bro. Darryl Brunson officiating. Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery in Chilton with Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson directing.

Active pallbearers were Ryan Williams, Jerry James, Chris Newton, Chris Wimberly, Grant Gregory, Brian Blankenship, Andy Kennedy and Marvin Shelby. Honorary pallbearers were coworkers of Ciba, Company 4 of Jackson Fire Department, Perry Cunningham, Ralph Roney, Frank Odom, Johnny Holston, Scott Holston, Wilson Dixon, Wayne Miller, Eddie York, Tom Jackson, Fred Walker, Derek James, Phillip James and A. J. Kennedy.
