Etheridge

Milton Allen Etheridge, Jr., 51, of Thomasville died Sunday, April 28, 2013 at UAB Hospital. He was born March 29, 1962 in Selma and was a member of the Sweet Water United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and fire chief of the Putnam Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Shea Long Etheridge of Thomasville; two sons, Brandon Etheridge and Harris Etheridge, both of Thomasville; two daughters, Meri Alana Etheridge and Anaclaire Etheridge, both of Thomasville; father, Milton Etheridge and mother, Celia H. Etheridge, both of Sweet Water; two sisters, Denise (Barry) Beck of Gulf Shores and Susan (Yann) Cowart of Montgomery; brother, Morris (Daphne) Etheridge of Sweet Water; father-inlaw and mother-in-law, Lamar and Betty Long of Butler; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Reid and Joanna Smith of Birmingham and sister-inlaw, Jamiee Long of Meridian, Miss.

Funeral service were Thursday, May 2 at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Leroy Shaw, Rev. Brooks Etheridge and Yann Cowart officiating. Interment followed at the Putnam Cemetery with O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville directing.

Active pallbearers were Kerry Cannon, Tuffy Atkins, Dick Newton, Todd Bishop, Bill Bishop and Rob Beck.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Shea Etheridge and Children's Fund at First United Security Bank.
