Charles Bernard Casteel, 67, of Grove Hill died Saturday, May 11, 2013 at his home. He was born Oct. 31, 1945 in Pine Hill. Casteel was a retired B and B operator with Norfolk Southern Railroad and was a member of the Sunny South Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Luverne Casteel of Thomasville; three sons, Charles Allen "Buddy" (Daphne) Casteel and Richie C. (Jackie) Elmore, both of Thomasville and Jake (Mallory) Casteel of Pine Hill; three daughters, Jennifer Chaney, Charlie (Matthew) Flora and Torie Williams, all of Thomasville; brother, Harold Casteel of Fulton; sister, Lou Dell Baugh of Greenwood; eight grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Casteel and William Howard Casteel; three sisters, Jeanette Casteel Baugh, Geneva Smith and Irene Casteel.

Funeral services were Tuesday, May 14 at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Leon Parnell and Rev. Leon Harrison officiating. Interment followed at the Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Thomasville with O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville directing.

Active pallbearers were Robert Autery, Ken Smith, Micah Autery, Brett Rush, Ethan Autery and Chris Baugh. Honorary pallbearers were Alex Smith, Harold Casteel, Herman Lassiter and Floyd Walker.
