James Arlington McDanal, 93, of Selma died Sunday, June 2, 2013. He was a loving husband and a wise, wonderful father. His grandchildren would say his greatest accomplishment was being the best granddaddy ever. His legacy and unconditional love will always remain in their hearts.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Mary Juanita McDanal; children, Leslie T. "Dusty" (Wanda) McDanal, Marydell (Von) McQueen and Carolyn McDanal Sellers; grandchildren, James Eric (Jennifer) McDanal, Jason Scott (Crisi) McDanal, Joshua Lee (Lyndsey) McDanal, James Heath McDanal, William Seth (Christy) McDanal, Sarah Ann McDanal (Chris) Fancher, Christopher DeVon (Lindzy) McQueen, Jonathan Arlington McQueen and Amanda "Mandy" Mary Constance McQueen and great-grandchildren, James Eric McDanal, Jr., John Emory McDanal, Bailey Nichols, James Wesley "Wes" McDanal, Ashlee Jo McDanal, Elijah "Eli" Warren McDanal, Jackson "Jack" Cole McDanal and Leah Ann Fancher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theo and Dora McDanal; son, James William "Bill" McDanal; brothers, Clarence Eugene McDanal, Theodore McDanal, Thomas Clifton McDanal and Billy Neal McDanal and sisters, Sara McDanal Norris and Doris McDanal Preston.
Funeral services were Wednesday, June 5 at Marion Junction Baptist Church with Dr. Ed Byrom and Rev. Von McQueen officiating. Interment followed in the Marion Junction Cemetery with Selma Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers were James Eric McDanal, Jason Scott McDanal, Joshua Lee McDanal, James Heath McDanal, William Seth McDanal, Christoper DeVon McQueen and Jonathan Arlington McQueen. Honorary pallbearers were his nephews.
