Herman Allen Lassiter, 68, of Duncanville died Monday, June 17, 2013 at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa. He was born Sept. 1, 1944 in Thomasville and was a retired sewing machine mechanic.

He is survived by his daughter, Stacey Necole Cowan of Duncanville; five sisters, Helen Taylor of Decatur, Hazel Etheridge and Vivian Sheffield, both of Linden, Doris Rutledge and Margie McLean, both of Thomasville; two brothers, Harold Lassiter of Fulton and Wallace Gates of Nanafalia; two grandchildren, Cavin Boykins and Nikko Cowan and special friend, Suzanne Kelly.

Funeral services were Friday, June 21 at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Sherman Williams officiating. Interment followed at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Thomasville with O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville directing.

Active pallbearers were Maurice Cowan, Cavin Boykins, Todd Gates, Marvin Jackson, Michael Evans and Jeff Robertson. Honorary pallbearers were Nikko Cowan, Kenneth Rutledge, Tristan Rutledge, Landon Bedwell and Shawn Lassiter.
