Robert Lanier Ingram, 77, a retired postmaster of Thomasville, died Sunday, July 7, 2013 at his home. He was born June 17, 1936. Ingram was a member of the Bashi United Methodist Church, a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps, Past Master of Oliver Lodge No. 334 F&AM, past president of the Thomasville Rotary Club and past president of The Alabama Chapter of The National Association of Postmasters.

Bob, known to his grandchildren as "B-Bob", struck everyone who met him with his kindness, wisdom, and gentle strength. His great loves were Rosemary, his wife of 54 years, family and friends, his family land, his cows, and making sure that everyone around him knew that they were loved.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Ramsey Ingram of Tuscaloosa; daughter, Cindy Ingram Cade of Birmingham; son, Robert Lanier (Molly) Ingram, Jr., of Tuscaloosa; nine grandchildren, Rob Pope, Clint Pope, Cody Pope, Ingram Cade, Mary Wesley Cade, Madeline Ingram, Lanier Ingram, Mac Goodwin and Libby Goodwin and three greatgrandchildren, Natalie Pope, Summer Pope and Hunter Pope.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Ira Ingram and Lottie Belle Harrison Ingram; sister, Joan Ingram and daughter, Angela Ingram Pope.

Memorial services were Wednesday, July 10 at Bashi United Methodist Church with Rev. Brooks Etheridge officiating and O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville directing.

Memorials may be made to the Bashi United Methodist Church Building Fund.
