Walter Gray Dement, 79, of Thomasville died Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at his home. He was born July 10, 1934 in Thomasville. He was a former brick mason and a member of the Grove Hill Methodist Protestant Church.
He is survived by his wife, Clydie Mae Dement of Thomasville; two sons, Calvin Richard Dement and Walter Glenn Dement, both of Thomasville; two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Morgan and Peggy Darlene Blevins, both of Thomasville; brother, Leo Dement of Semmes; two sisters, Barbara Ann Lynn and Martha Alice Shoemaker, both of Thomasville; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services were Thursday, Sept. 5 at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Benny Crawford and Rev. Harold Jackson officiating. Interment followed at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Grove Hill with O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville directing.
Active pallbearers were Greg Dement, Ricky Dement, Bobby Joe Lynn, Benny Johnston, Bobby Johnston and Chris Gaddy.
