Carl Wilhelm Carlson, Jr., 96, of Fairhope and long time resident of Thomasville died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 at his home. He was born Oct. 30, 1916 in Fulton. He was a retired diesel mechanic with McMillan Bloedel Corporation, a member of the Midway Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his son, George C. (Sybil) Carlson of Fairhope; sister, Ann Gaines of Salem, Ill.; four grandsons and five greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Marie Megginson Carlson; daughter, Rose Marie Carlson; his parents, Carl W. Carlson, Sr. and Eleanor Lindsey Carlson; three brothers, Willard "Bill" Carlson, Rudolph Carlson and Lavoid Carlson and sister, Dorothy C. Davis.
Graveside services were Oct. 21 at Choctaw Corner Cemetery with Chuck Lenoir and Kathy Counsel officiating and O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville directing.
