Smitherman had a passion for bull riding. He loved to hunt and fish but most of all he loved his family and friends. He loved to bring laughter to every occasion and smiles to everyone around him.
He leaves behind a son, Brandon Smitherman of Tuscaloosa; a daughter, McKenzee Smitherman of Selma; mother Becky Smitherman of Grove Hill; father, Wayne Smitherman of Selma; grandmother, Helen Massey of Grove Hill; two sisters, Jessica (Randy) Harvell of Moody and Kristina Wade of Grove Hill; loving girlfriend, Brittany Martin; devoted niece, Ciara Wade of Grove Hill; five nephews: Randy Harvell, Timothy Harvell and Hunter Harvell, all of Moody and Bradley Wade and Jayden Boykins, both of Grove Hill; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, J. L. and Elizabeth Smitherman of Selma; maternal grandfathers, Robert Walker of Prattville and M.C. Massey of Grove Hill.
A memorial service was May 29 at Lathan Funeral Home in Grove Hill with Pastor Jimmy Boswell of Dallas County’s Cowboy Church officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
