Mendy Grey Evans, 89, a retired seamstress of Arlington died Dec. 24, 2017 at Thomasville Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Sept. 11, 1928 in Pine Hill to Jesse Frank and Lula McGilberry. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Pine Hill and the Pine Hill Nutrition Center.

She is survived by her three sons, Charlie (Louise) Evans of Arlington, Johnny (Patti) Evans of Arlington, and Thomas Earl (Beckie) Evans of Arlington; daughter, Sue Maness of Arlington; two sisters, Frankie Gibson of Jackson and Ann Riggins of Pine Hill; six grandchildren, Jason Maness, Suzanne Maness, Jodie Rutherford, Jessica Mann, Sonya Evans, and Miranda Ingram and seven great-grandchildren, River, Jay, Arlie, Tyler, Carlie, Cameron, and Paisley.

Graveside funeral services were Dec. 27, 2017 at County Line Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Irby Weaver officiating and O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Active pallbearers were Roy Rutledge, Morgan Stoudenmier, Peter Frank McGilberry, Eric Agee, Mike Rush and Gene Agee.

Honorary pallbearers were James Jackson, Rex Leonard and Roger Autrey.
