Gladys Mae Parish Carleton, 93, of Thomasville died March 4, 2018 at her home. She was born Aug. 14, 1924 in Gaskins, Fla. the daughter of the late Robert Wyatt and Mozelle Parish.

She was a member of the Thomasville Baptist Church and lived in Thomasville for the past 74 years.

She loved the Lord and her family very much and her last wishes for them was to do the same; “Love the Lord”, “Love each other”, “Stay together”. She was known in the community for her delicious pound cakes and loved to share them with her family and friends. She always loved being a homemaker and was an excellent seamstress, loved crocheting, cooking and food preservation.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Eldred Carleton; daughter, JoAnn Ott; granddaughter,

Kelly Ott and brother, Robert Wyatt Parish.

She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Carleton (Steve) Stephens of Tyrone, Ga. and Ginger Carleton (Ricky) Weldy of Thomasville; five grandchildren,

Aaron Ott, Stephanie Martin, Derek (Brandie) Stephens, Beau (Bridgette) Gunter and Brea (Andy) Wiggins; seven great- grandchildren,

Alexis Ott, Gracie Martin, Breelyn Garrick, Gray Wiggins, Eden Gunter, Mason Stephens and Jack Stephens.

Graveside funeral services were March 7, 2018 at Choctaw Corner Cemetery with the Rev. Ty Parten and the Rev. David Nelson officiating and O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Active pallbearers were Steve Stephens, Ricky Weldy, Derek Stephens, Beau Gunter, Aaron Ott and Andy Wiggins.

The family request memorials be made to Thomasville Baptist Church in memory of Gladys Carleton.
