Almost 31 years after “stopping off in Thomasville on his way home”, Dr. J.C. Stanley is closing his dentistry practice and retiring.

In a special meeting last Thursday night, June 19, the Thomasville City Council voted to purchase 103.25 acres of land adjacent to the high school property off Gates Drive.
The property is being purchased from Grove Hill businessman Willie Welch at $4,200 per acre.
In addition to the 103 acres purchased, Council members bought an option to purchase an additional 80 acres and another option on Highway 43 access.
