Renovations are underway on the old Rite Aid Pharmacy store next to Super Foods on Highway 43 for it to be a Shoe Show store.

Shoe Show, Inc. is an American footwear retailer based in Concord, N.C. It operates show stores throughout the United States under several names, including Shoe Show.

The company was founded in 1960 by Robert B. Tucker and has more than 1,150 locations. Shoe Show stores in this area are in Demopolis, Monroeville and Waynesboro, Miss.

A date for the Thomasville store’s opening and other details have not been released.

Mayor Sheldon Day said the city welcomes the new retailer.
