THS baseball drops two games to UMS

The Thomasville High School Tigers varsity baseball team lost both games of a season-opening doubleheader with UMS Wright of Mobile at the THS ball field: 13-1 and 15-5.

In the first game, Charles Morris was the losing pitcher. He pitched 3.1 innings and allowed 4 hits, 7 runs (3 earned), 3 walks and struck out 8. Anthony Dotson had 1 hit. Morris had a solo home run.

In the second game, Isaac Parten was the losing pitcher. He pitched 1 inning and allowed 8 hits, 12 runs (3 earned), 3 walks and struck out 2. Gavin Nichols had 2 hits, 1 RBI and scored 2 runs. Diego Bryant had 1 hit and scored 2 runs. Morris had 1 hit and 1 RBI. Ace Thompson had 1 hit and 1 RBI. Dallas Bryant had 2 hits, 1 RBI and scored 1 run. John Figgers had 1 hit.

Both the THS varsity and junior varsity teams will travel Thursday, Feb. 23 to play at Jackson High School.

The varsity team will host T.R. Miller and Leroy on Saturday, Feb. 25 with games beginning at 11 a.m.

The JV team will host Sweet Water in a 4 p.m. doubleheader on Feb. 28.The varsity team will host the University Charter School of Livingston on March 2.

The JV team will host Clarke County on March 3.

Both the varsity and JV teams will travel March 4 to Brewton to play T.R. Miller.
